چکیده

Silkworm (Bombyx mori) has been reported to exhibit diverse health benefits. A comparative study was conducted evaluate the physicochemical (colour, water activity, pH, solubility, proximate, mineral, amino acid, and fatty acid composition) microbiological qualities of Bombyx mori silkworm powder produced from two developmental stages (larvae pupae). pupae (SPP) had significantly higher (p<0.05) lightness (L*) yellowness (b*) values than larval (SLP). SPP activity solubility SLP. The pH both powders were not statistically different. SLP protein moisture but lower fat, ash, fibre, total calorie content as compared SPP. efficiency ratio SPP, indicating that contained amount essential acid. Both 20 types acids with exhibited polyunsaturated composition a low n-6/n-3 ratio, which may be beneficial human health. could good source iron rich in magnesium zinc. yeast mould count finding this suggested different provide effects humans derived protein, minerals, acids, content.

Physicochemical Properties of Meat Batter Added with Edible Silkworm Pupae (Bombyx mori) and Transglutaminase

This study was conducted to investigate the physicochemical properties of meat batters prepared with fresh pork meat, back fat, water, and salt and formulated with three different amounts (5%, 10%, and 15%) of silkworm pupae (Bombyx mori) powder and transglutaminase (TG). Meat batters formulated with silkworm pupae powder showed significantly higher contents of protein and ash than control batt...

Proteomic Analysis of Larval Midgut from the Silkworm (Bombyx mori)

The midgut is the major organ for food digestion, nutrient absorption and also a barrier for foreign substance. The 5th-instar larval stage of silkworm is very important for larval growth, development, and silk production. In the present study, we used 2-DE and matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF-MS) to analyze the midgut proteins from the 5th...

Proteomic and immunological identification of two new allergens from silkworm (Bombyx mori L.) pupae

This study explored food allergy caused by eating silkworm (Bombyx mori L.) pupae, a traditionally accepted food and animal feed in East and Southeast Asia, and identified two new allergens by proteomic and immunological methods. Proteins isolated from silkworm pupae were separated by two-dimensional gel electrophoresis (2-DE); pooled sera from patients allergic to silkworm pupa proteins were u...

The genome sequence of silkworm, Bombyx mori.

We performed threefold shotgun sequencing of the silkworm (Bombyx mori) genome to obtain a draft sequence and establish a basic resource for comprehensive genome analysis. By using the newly developed RAMEN assembler, the sequence data derived from whole-genome shotgun (WGS) sequencing were assembled into 49,345 scaffolds that span a total length of 514 Mb including gaps and 387 Mb without gaps...

Nucleotide Diversity and Selection Signature in the Domesticated Silkworm, Bombyx mori, and Wild Silkworm, Bombyx mandarina

To investigate the patterns of nucleotide diversity in domesticated silkworm, Bombyx mori L. (Lepidoptera: Bombycidae) and its wild relative, Chinese wild silkworm, Bombyx mandarina Moore, we sequenced nine nuclear genes. Neutrality test and coalescent simulation for these genes were performed to look at bottleneck intensity and selection signature; linkage disequilibrium (LD) within and betwee...
